About this blog

Welcome to this blog! Our purpose is to keep a daily recount (or almost daily, whenever there is a relevant anecdote) of important dates in the history of Opus Dei.

The name of the blog was taken from point 998 of St. Josemaria's book 'The Way':

"Oh blessed perseverance of the donkey that turns the water-wheel! Always the same pace. Always the same circles. One day after another: everyday the same.
Without that, there would be no ripeness in the fruit, nor blossom in the orchard, nor scent of flowers in the garden.
Carry this thought to your interior life."

"One day after another" of keeping track of those important moments in history is what is intended here. And those important moments are like milestones or checkpoints of the history of Opus Dei, which is also a history of "a blessed perseverance", of trying to strive for sanctity in every moment of ordinary life.

Everybody is welcome to read, and we hope you find these posts -some small and some longer- interesting, or better yet, inspiring.

Comments and questions are welcome, especially if some detail(s) need(s) clarification or if you have a relevant anecdote that you would like to share. Important also, if your knowledge of an event is more accurate or detailed, or think something needs correction please don't hesitate to contact. Posts are taken from books written by the founder or members of the Prelature, see references and further reading.
